P180B optional 120mm fans direction

I read that the case has slots for 2 additional 120mm fans. I dont have the diagram in front of me but where are the two located and what directions must they face. Do they send air in or out?
 
The mount in front of the two upper harddrive mounts is the first, and if you don't have harddrives in that those mounts, then there's a mount included with your case to mount another fan on the back of that cage.
 
PCTC2 described the first fan. The second optional fan placement is in the bottom chamber between the PSU and the HDD cage. In both cases, I usually have the fans going front to back.

I think that one is standard equipment.

I'm not certain, but I think PCTC2 is more likely to be correct. I think I remember having to purposefully add a fan to the front of the top HD bay, but the one near the PSU came with the case (but my memory is somewhat fuzzy).

The second additional fan is somewhat redundant and virtually unnecessary, as it sits almost directly behind another one, not to mention making one of t he HD bays unusable. Even if PCTC2 is wrong, I think this one-behind-the-other phenomenon is the same, it's just going to be either in the top or the bottom hd bay.

You're right. My mistake. I've had my case for so long that I've forgotten how it came stock 🙂
 
so i really only need 1 fan in front of the upper hd cage. I have 2 hds both in the bottom cage and the upper cage is just open to let the heat pass through. I guess I can put my fan there to draw the air out. What mount are you guys talking about. I didnt see any in my case. I may have lost it when I had this case in storage all this while. Is it absolutely required to mount the fan. Cant I use screws or something?

The 2nd optional mount is the metal clip you attach to the back of the upper HD bay, as shown in the link provided by Wobblex2.

If you can't find those, you can just stick the fan in the 1st optional mount that is in front of the upper HD bay. Pull out the upper HD bay, and in front of it, attached just behind the air filter, you will find a plastic mount that is a slightly thinner version of the plastic mount that is in front of the PSU. You can mount a 120x25mm fan in there. Since this mount is a little further away from your vid card and PCI cards, it won't be quite as effective as the metal clip mount in cooling them, but it should be better than nothing, as well as allowing you to still mount drives in the upper bay if you so wish.

And yes, I think you are supposed to mount the fan so it draws air in.
 
Looks like I'm late to the party. I recall my 180b coming with three stock 120mm. One at the top, one at the top rear, and I can't remember stock placement of the third. All together, there are 6 possible mount locations (which I think have been covered; two by the front air filters, one optional mount to the rear of the top HD cage, one mount position by the PSU, then the two near the top rear of the case). I personally run two of my fans at the top and top rear, with the third attached to the "back" of the top hard drive cage, blowing right on my two passively cooled graphics cards. I probably should get a few fans for the front panel to increase the air flow pressure to something a bit more positive <.<
