P180 vs V1100

I was just wondering which of the two cases would be the better buy, as I'm going to be building a new system in August and need a new case. Right now I'm leaning towards teh V1100, but any suggestions are appreciated 🙂

No opinions? Even if you don't own either, I'd appreciate the insight 🙂 so far, this is what I've come up with for the pros and cons of each

P180 Pros
- Better cooling (I think, let me know if I'm wrong)
- Regular motherboard orientation (if I go with the A8N-SLi Premium)
- Price

P180 Cons
- Need some long PS cords or extenders

V1100 Pros
- All Aluminum/Lighter
- No need for extenders (inverted motherboard)

V1100 Cons
- Inverted motherboard (no A8N-SLi Premium)

I would take the V1100.

The P-180 has a lot plastic in its construction, to me that?s a big negative. Even aside from the plastic aside I still like the look of the V1100 a bit more.

I have a V1000 and a P180. They are both very nice cases.

bad things about LianLi-
Tough to run cables and make it look nice. Noisy! My raptors were very loud inside there lol. Dusty. There are many holes in that case that let the dust right in. The inverted mobo mounting forced me to invest in the P180 since i have a Ausu Premium board. No removeable mobo tray. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels. $$$$

bad things about the Antec-
tough to run cables, some power supplies are too short to reach some connectors. Plastic! Way too much plastic. the tabs on the doors are plastic and it seems like they are just begging to be broken off. Windowless... i can't show off my new 7800GTX lol. With all the fans on high it's loud. It's very heavy. Don't get this case if you travel with your pc very much. the vga cooler duct seems gimmicky and will not take a regualr 80mm fan with a GTX in the case. Raptors are now mounted on their side, not sure if this is good for them. *heat. i'm having thermal issues with this case that i did not have with my lianli. $$$

*this may not be the case at fault since i have not discovered the problem yet.

things i liked about my lianli-

inverted mobo was cool as hell. great looking case and it kept everything very cool. blue led on front is very bright (maybe too bright in a dim room) I cut the rear grill out because i didn't think it let enough air out.

Things i like about P180

Very nice looking case, a work of art. Quiet if you keep the fans low. Filters in the intake areas keep dust out. bigger than LianLi 1000 (smaller than 1100 tho) Lockable front door, I like a door to hide stuff. nice blue light but not too bright. Lots of attention to details. Little rubber/silicone grommets to mount hard drives. Really quited down my drives.

I just got a P180..I do not have V1100 but general most would say that it has a better overall buidl quality

With that said...the P180 is very nice...I just starting setting it up last night...

3 drawbacks..
the lower chamber 120mm fan is a bitch to get out and
the front door is plastic but I like the magnet closure...
the opening to pass cables from psu to mobo are too small causing loss of some cable length

This is one very nice case..well designed and thought out...get 3 120mm fans...lots of extra screws and drive rails...no sharp edges, soft plastic or rubber feet(nice touch)
fair amount of room to work

I ma not sure on performance yet..hope to get it running tonight

I cant see how some have gotten such nice cable management..kudos to them

In the P180, there's extra space next to the PSU, the hard drive cages, and the drive rails on top. 🙂 Throw your extra wires in there.

Nice breakdown of the two cases, and the loudness/dust problem is the exact reason I planned on avoiding the V1000. I guess the only bad thing about the V1100 then in your opnion would be the fact that the SLi Premium does not work well with it?

Yes I have seen that but how they get SATA cable etc so nicely hidden...I am amazed

I heard that bending (90degrees)the sata cables can cause data loss....

I can't actually say that the Asus board won't work, i have heard from a few guys that said it worked fine. I also heard from some guys that were having problems with heat so I decided not to take a chance. besided my FTP server needed a new case anyway 🙂 If i would have used it in my LL i think i would have added an small hsf to the north bridge heat pipe just in case.
