P180 vs the rest of the world

The P180 seems to be adored here and I am curious why... Does anyone have any comparisons or benchmarks (heat, noise, etc.) that they could share?

The case seems nice but at my local Fry's i've really grown to like the silverstone tj06 (windtunnel, look, sturdiness)

Any feedback?

www.silentpcreview did a whole review about the p180 and the TJ-06. Both are recommended.

Course, TJ-06's windtunnel isn't compatible with many socket 939 boards... so its a big drawback.

would they be considered fairly competitive cases with mainly the only deciding factor being personal taste or does one certainly beat the other in a specific area?

does the tj06 support the nf4 dfi motherboards?

For a fileserver, I highly prefer the CoolerMaster CMStacker STC-101. It has a reversable BTX/ATX chassis and can mount two PSUs. It can hold 14 hard drives cooled by three 120mm fans if you fill the bays with 4-in-3 modules! Castors, blowhole, side fan, no door to break, filtered intakes, motherboard-side fan option ("CrossFlow fan") and more seem to make it the superior case.

Cases = personal preference.

As long as it has decent airflow, there's no need to say one's better than the other.

Each to their own :)

Any Nforce4 mobo = no.
They built the TJ06's windtunnel with the dram slots on the side, not above the cpu.

A lot of people might not like the simple exterior.... I for one like it... but the inside? come on man, it's super neat and well thought out inside!

the CPU cooling ability is 2nd to none. literally.

I :heart: the P180!

I just built a system with the P180. The PSU mounts in the bottom. I barely got one the 12v ATX cable to reach to the top of the MB. It fit with no problems until I put in the Video card. Routing around it was tough. There is a little strain on the cable, but not too much. I need to look for a jumper with the same molex connectors.

Beyond that little issue, everything else is awesome. It is a high quality build, great cooling, everything fits and feels 'professional'. I was an Electronics Technician in the Nuclear Power Field for 12 years and I've been in the Semiconductor Industry for 9 years. I'm used to working on high quality stuff, and this case leaves nothing to be desired!
