P180 Users - Question

From what I can tell, the P180 has 3 fans:

- (2x) 120mmx25mm fans
- (1x) 120mmx38mm fan

The two smaller fans are in the top-back of the case, and exhaust heat away. The bigger one is in the bottom chamber and creates a wind tunnel between the HDD cage and the PSU.

My question is: Is this enough? There doesn't seem to be any intake fans!! On the Antec site it says you can add a front intake fan, but only if you REALLY need it. That leads me to believe that the majority of us will be fine without one. But how can that be if you only have exhaust fans??

Dude, Bona Fide. I thought you were less noobish than this.

Just do a search for P180 and there are at least 5 threads asking the same exact question you just asked. Do research noob.

One of the post titles is actually "Are stock fans in the P180 Enough?"

... or something similar. Jeeze dude. Search feature is free to use!

No, for me they were not - but I also run an overclocked Prescott (PresHOT!)

All of my fans except the lower cage thick one are now all Nexus as well as the optional intake. Much quieter!

The front intake dropped my CPU down 4c idle (which is alot).

I suggest at least getting a front intake - the only reason I replaced the stock antecs with Nexus is for noise (also I like to adjust and monitor RPM which requires 3-pin which the antecs are not)

Heh Safeway, my bad. Don't know what I was thinking 🙁

Thanks for the answer Grim. Pressies run pretty hot so I'll factor that in.

i have (5) 120x25mm fans and (1) 120x38mm fan in my p180.

summer is really hot here. i need the two extra fans...

1 blowing on the pwmic and ram... overclocked my 3000+ to 2745 (305x9) with my ram running 1:1. the fan makes my ram more stable at ddr 610 and lowers the pwmic temp from 55 to 45 at load.

1 blowing on the video card and the chipset.... my 6800gt w/ a AC5 almost completely blocks the whole chipset heatsink. by adding a fan, it lowers my chipset temp from 56 to 47 at load, also cools my video card a few degrees.
