I was trying to check one of the fans because it was making too much sound and I found that I couldn't get the left panel out, I opened the right side and peeked in and didn't see any wires caught on the hooks (which shouldn't happen anyways because I did an awesome on cable management so far). Anyone have any solutions on how to get it out without excessive force? Apparently someone else had the same problem at OCUK and ended up breaking his side panel.

I've never had any trouble opening or closing the side panels on my P180, so I don't know what to say. But yea becareful when opening or closing since the tabs that seal the case are made of plastic and not metal.

I didn't have a problem before either, I can still open the right side just fine, I can pull the left side out 1 mm, but then it get stuck :(.

Pull out the right side panel and see if there are any wires or anything obstructing the left panel. :)

Already did, stated in OP.

does the 180 have like a bar across the front like my 160? where you need to take off the front panel in order to remove the side panel?

did you lock it? lol

whatever you do don't use brute force, i have done so many times and regreted it always because i don't know my own strength and broken stuff all the time.

Nope, you don't have to take off front panel to remove side panel. The lock doesn't affect the side panel, but just in case, it is unlocked.

How do I get it out if I don't use brute force?

Well seems like brute force is the only option left to you. Make sure you did everything that you should do to remove it, and then just pull.

What's everything I should do? It's unlocked, I don't see anything from the right side, and there are no screws in place.

I actually have the exact same problem with my p180!

Mine did it in about a week of owning it, at first I was pissed, but now I'm just used to it. Heres my way to get it off:

- pull the stuck door back as far as it will go (mine only goes back half as far as it should)
-then if you look the only thing holding you back is the clips that face the inside of the case and lock it in when you "slide" the door on
-you gotta kinda "peel" the door back and away from the case starting at the top (to get the top clips out)
-then pull back slightly and the bottom clips should just "pop" out like it is suppose to in the first place
-BE SURE TO BE GENTLE
-each time you do it, it gets easier and easier to do (and requires less force)

I'm not sure if this is the same problem you have, but I thought I'd post anyway

The reason it gets stuck is the rubber that sits between the case and the door - it doesn't like to "Slide" out like its suppose to (hence the "peel" method) :)

At least yours slides halfway back, mine slides 1 mm out and stops, I guess I'll try poking the clips from the other side with a screwdriver and see if that helps.

Mine got stuck for a different reason. I put the wrong thumb screw going into the lower drive bay, so it stuck further out than normal. This prevented me from removing the panel. I don't really know how I got the side panel off, but do check that thumbscrew and make sure it's the shorter of the two.

no, you are wrong about the p160. The bar is for you cant take out the front bezel without taking off the side panel so people dont steal you drives since the side panel locks

I ran into the same problem and ended up breaking the side panel :(

Okay I found out why it's stuck. I have the right side panel on the left side. I thought they looked the same, but they are slightly different. I still can't see what it is stuck on though. I got the top part off though using the peel method, but the bottom is still stuck. I've tried banging the bottom two clips with a screwdriver. No go.

Winner!

I was wrong, both panels look the same. Mine got stuck because I used the case thumbscrews rather than the hdd cage thumbscrews which were bigger and blocked the bottom hook. I got it off by peeling the top two hooks and then using brute force to yank the side panel out. There's a lot of scratches because of the thumbscrew, but thankfully the panel is flexible and not much dmg was done.

Thanks AT, another problem solved.

Quite a few people have broken their side panel tabs because of the wrong thumbscrews. I'm sure antec will supply just the short ones in future.

Dude, you rock that was my problem too! I would have never noticed that on my own. No more "peeling" method for me!

 to you!
