P180 PSU

Well, like a lot of people I'm probably going to get the Antec P180 case for my new system. Unfortunately the one on newegg doesn't come with a power supply. So, I'm stuck with the decision myself.
Im on a pretty tight budget, so I was wondering...
Are these PSUs good for the money?
If they're not, then what is a good, cheap, quality PSU?

Basically, anyone on this page that is < 50 bucks.

Two things to consider when deciding on a power supply...

First, you do tend to get what you pay for. If you need a solid 430+watts, 50 bucks typically doesn't cut it! Some other regulars may be able to point you in a good direction as far as budget power supply's go.

Secondly, you need super long cables off of the PSU to work in the P180, since the PSU is on the bottom in this case. The cables have a lot farther to go to reach the ATX connector(s).

The Antec NeoPower 480 modular connector PSU is fantastic in this case. Since their newer NeoHE series of PSU's are launching now, you might can get some decent deals on them..

You cant afford a quality PSU but you can afford to lose your whole system to a crappy PSU... nice.

Dont waste money on el-cheapo PSUs or they will burn you.

A good bet is an Antec SmartPower 2.0 500 watt power supply. Yes, it's 500 watts, but it's a lot cheaper than most comparable power supplies out there - it's about $60 or so - and it's got detachable cables to help with cable clutter to boot. According to SilentPCReview, it's a good quality power supply that tends to be fairly quiet most of the time, and 500 watts is enough to power just about anything you can throw at it.

Man..I think the PSU is one palce not to cheap out....everything runs off it...stupid

PC Poer & Cooling, OCZ, Seasonic are all excellent

Antec is very good too...but I have not seen an OCZ Powerstream blow but my Antec TruePower 480W did after 2 yrs
