I posted in the general hardware forums earlier today about quake4 and FEAR freezing after a few hours of gameplay. I can't ctrl alt del out or alt tab to get back to the desktop in any way. It doesn't freeze with other games, like CSS, CS, D2, COD, etc... Only Quake and Fear so far. How the hell is my videocard overheating? I thought the P180 was supposed to do a good job of cooling...
My rig:
P180
A8N SLI Deluxe
3500+ @ stock /w Xp-120 & U1A Panaflo
eVGA 6800GT @ stock /w VF700
2x80GB Maxtors RAID0
Audigy2 ZS
OCZ 520W Modstream
4x512 Mushkin valueram (3-3-3-8)
I have my top and rear fan as exhaust, my Panaflo on the XP-120 blowing on the CPU, an intake in the upper chamber and 2 intakes in the bottom chamber (I have 1 80mm vantec stealth infront of the bottom HD cage)
Why would my videocard be overheating? My VF700 is hooked up to my Zalman fan controller on a 5V/12V switch and is almost always on 12V. any advice?
