P180 + OCZ 600W + Gigabyte DS3 Rev3.3

Linux23

These components should be coming this week. I just read about the tight power supply cables that comes from the bottom where the PSU is mounted to the motherboard, drives, etc.

Does anyone know if this will be a problem with the PSU cables coming up a bit short in this P180 case? I'd like to know early so that I could order some extension cables and have everything neatly organized.

If you think there will be a problem, can you tell me exactly what type of extension cables I will need to order? I'm about 4 years behind on system building, since I built my Athlon XP 2800+😱

Any help or guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

id get the extension cable for your 4/8 pin cable anyways as it costs a few bucks and even if yours does reach, it will not be tucked away neatly as it will have to run over the GC to get to the proper place.

doublecheck the specs of that mobo but you should need a 4pin like this http://www.digiconcepts.com/cables_power_34.htm

if it is an 8-pin then get that. i doubt it though.

Thanks man. Appreciate the help. I am a little behind the times in PC building. The last PC I built was an Athlon XP 2800+ 4 years ago.

In this pic, does it look like I would need a 4 or an 8 pin connector?

Motherboard Pic

Looks like 4, but I want to be 100% sure before I order the part.

no prob. i have that same extension. it is just right, lets me run my 4pin power cable up the backside and around the rear exhaust fan to plop nicely onto the mobo connector.
