P180 and Seasonic or Antec?

How bad really is the reach for the Seasonic cables? Right now it's between the Antec TP-II 550w and the Seasonic S-12 600w. I plan on buying one of them today so please help me choose one. Thank you!

You will have to get extension cables with the Seasonic PSUs. I can tell you how long they are once I get home in 3 or 4 hours, but I know they aren't long enough for a P180.

EDIT: Oh, and I definitely recommend the Seasonics by the way.

I would go with the seasonic s12 500W or 600W if you need it from what tas is saying i guess you need extensions would be worth it though 🙂

I have a SeaSonice S12 600W and a P180. No extension cables necessary using a P5WD2 mobo. Everything fit plenty fine. Only quibble was the 12V for the mobo isn't long enough to run under the mobo and come out the top. I needed to thread it under my graphics card. It also reached looping it over the card, but didn't look very clean.

I have a Seasonic S12 500 and an Antec P180 and everything has more than enough room.

Okay, I stand corrected. You might have room. I went from two Enermax PSUs to two Seasonic PSUs in my machine, and I was amazed at how much shorter the cables were. And I know of others having to use extensions, so I guess it depends on your mobo and it's placement then.

I'm a big fan of the Antec TruePower / TPII series of PSU's as I can actually vouch for their quality, having two running in my own rigs. Many people on these forums tend to think Seasonics kick arse, and they are probably right. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I"m pretty sure the ATX cable on the TruePower II PSU's is long enough, (Assuming the Connecter on the mobo isn't at the tippy top of the case)

My S12-600 reaches fine in my P180. A lot of it has to do with the motherboard, too. My DFI Ultra D has the power connectors on the top right side, so it was an easy reach for the cables. However, a lot of boards have the 12v CPU connector on the top left side, and that would be a bit of a stretch.

what mobo are you using? The connector placement on the mobo is an important variable here...

Well you can always run it under the video card though, so it shouldn't be that bad.
