P.O.D. - Youth Of The Nation

Has anyone heard this song (if not, fire up Morpheus. haha)?

I saw it on MTV2 (or was it Much?)...and then I downloaded it. I just got to thinking that this song does a rather good job at representnig the trouble in the teens in general (i know other bands do too, but I dunno...there's just something about this song)

What do you guys think?

I used to go to these guys shows years ago, before they'd really gone mainstream. Pretty wild, at least there were anyway. Good song though.

All I can think of when I hear bands like this played is:
"I'm a middle class white boy. Boo hoo. I've had such a tough life, the world's out to get me and I hate my father."

So no, I haven't heard that song - and don't plan to.

NaughtyusMaximus, Staind, Cold, Taproot and Linkin Park fit it to your catorgy of middle class white boys bitching and moaning but P.O.D is completely different. Read the lyrics to "Youth Of The Nation"(here they are)and you can see that they have a lot more to say then "I've had such a tough life, the world's out to get me and I hate my father" plus there music is cool as hell.

For anyone who doesn't already know, POD is a christian band. They may not be so forthcoming in their two most recent albums (because they have become more mainstream) but they still talk about God and Jesus. Their best album is "Brown." It doesn't have the best recording quality, but it has some great songs.

To quote Ben Folds, "All alone in my white boy pain." White boys have pain too, it's not some exclusive minority thing.

who cares. if they're good i'll listen to them anway.

<< 😉 I stand corrected then. I still think that POD's current single sucks ass though. Not my style of music. >>

lol

nice comeback 🙂

i care that they are xian too, i just find it crappy how music gets labelled 'xian' and then only xians seem to start listening to it. I think it's awesome that Christian people are putting out good music, though I'm hesitant to label a band as Christian. Is MxPx a Christian Band, or Ghotihook? good music, fluff band, Christian musicians but not necessarily "Christian" music.
