I had a "hush grandpa, take your pills" moment the other day when an elderly customer wanted me to mains-network their smart TV setup for better reception. Their YouTube history was filled not just with right-wing content but bordering on conspiracy kook material. The first result was worded like "THE CLIP THEY WON'T SHOW YOU FROM THE TRUMP HARRIS DEBATE", which for a moment I thought was a coincidental "this just happens to be at the top of YouTube's generic suggested content" result. I couldn't help the initial audible cracking up sound I made, then the horror and realisation set in of the rest of stupid crap this guy had lined up.
