Indeed it is. These specific "missing" minors are tied to the flood of unaccompanied minors that came in from Central America that year, and Obama mandated, essentially, to follow the law: process these kids ASAP and place them relatives if possible, but get them shelter and then return if necessary. It should be more alarming that this is the kind of shelter that was available/considered possible when dealing with these kind of numbers.
Also, it seems that the "missing" term is a bit dubious. It's likely the most of these kids were placed with undocumented relatives that are intentionally staying under the radar.

^I don't get it. While the first part of your quotation is absolutely true (hey, tyrants always tend to love their own kids), the second part is not. I don't see how the "1500" could be attributed to the Trump administration, much less their "missing" status. You might as well say that immigration has "lost" 5 or 8 million immigrants, or whatever the number is for undocumented. It's the same problem.
Then again, they are currently staffed at around 50-60% or so, because Trump is incompetent, so maybe that is part of it?

Just pointing out some misinformation and outrage going around...as well as the insanity of it all. We can fix this...but I'm afraid the number of lobotomies needed will quickly overwhelm our medical facilities.
