Even big oil doesn’t want Trump anymore, amazing.
I'm unclear on his current role within the industry as a whole, I believe it's more of an ad hoc consultation and appearance schedule when he feels like it. But you are correct, that sentiment does exist. What stuck out to me was Darren Woods of Exxon Mobil giving a trifling amount to a few repug party committees, basically ignoring Trump's out stretched hand with zero fucks given. Same for the rest of the Exxon execs I'm pretty sure.
They publically shot down one of Trump's lies about discussing support with them too. Exxon leadership wants nothing to do with the guy as far as I can tell.
I was talking with a guy from Irving (Canadian but they still count) a couple weeks ago and he said pretty much everyone he knows in the industry felt better once Trump was out of office. No one is stoked over a possible return to times of incredible volatility thanks to an infant like mind orchestrating trade wars and protectionist 'Merica First policies. Trump's aim of gutting or killing the IRA would stop a lot of big oil from completing some projects they want done, they just don't want to pay for it all themselves. Carbon capture and clean hydrogen being the main ones I think.
