I am currently straddling the fence over what to put in a system I am going to build. At first, I was going AMD all the way, but now with the dramatic price drop of the Intel chips I am thinking of going with the P-III 1ghz.

Does anyone have any experience overclocking this chip? I am thinking about the flip chip.
With a CUSL2 motherboard. What could somebody realistically expect to be able to O/c this chip and still maintain reliability?

I don't want a flame war about AMD versus Intel, just some solid answers.

Thanks,
Grumpy

tis true tho. Tbirds deliver amazing bang for the buck. i can't help but notice ALOT of people around here migrating to AMD. i am happy w/ my 650E/BX rig at 900-925, but would love to move to a KT133A/Tbird setup. its a good time for the power hungry.

Well I'm getting ready to upgrade my system thusly:
P-III 933EB, Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS Pro 64MB, 512MB Mosel Vitelic CAS 2 P133 RAM on 4 128 MB sticks, all on an Asus P3V4X. Got a great deal on all of the above and unless your anal, there's not much diff between 933 and 1Gig. The slot 1 deal is a long story but I'm still happy as a clam with Intel CPU's even though I'm not knocking the everyday "bang for a buck" of AMD's. It's all good when Q3 sings, eh? ;)
