I am very aware of the "new customer = new credit card #" rule. :) Too bad, my system can't handle 133MHz FSB. I'l still with a Celeron 950 for now.

The page also had a link to a rebate, but it only looks like a contest entry for a Dell machine (hey, anything that's free ain't bad).

From what I've read, the 733 is the best non-overclocking value on the Intel side of the house. Getting a retail for $150 has got to help that price/performance ratio.

great chip. About as fast as a celeron @950 in most applications too. Bad side: Requires 133 FSB (ram/video card that can handle it).

550mghz (not a hot deal).

You can get a celeron 633 (run it at 950) for less and get more power than you would running that at 100fsb (or even 133fsb).

just a tip.

great price though.

Not a bad deal, about 30% less than what I would have to pay for these things here. I'm still happy with my AMD 800 though.

What kind of video card is good enough for this? I have a voodoo3 AGP. Does that do 133?

if the bus is 133 mhz that means the multiplier is 5.5?

does that mean this cpu can't be overclocked much?

would it be better to go with a 100 mhz bus speed processor?

Your best bets for overclocking, on the Intel side of things right now (considering price/performance value) is probably a Celeron 566@850 (overclocked on 100mhz bus) or a Pentium III 700@933 (o/c on 133mhz bus) or higher speeds are possible, as usual with processors your results will vary from chip to chip.

I currently have a P3 700 o/c to 1000 and a Celeron 566 o/c to 850...pretty good value in my opinion. :D

i had the 566@850 and was running it stable
but the problem was performance
it sucked
when i played deus ex, i could only do 640x480 16 bit textures and it was still choppy (ge force 2 mx)
when i stuck my p3 500@685 in, i was able to go 1024x768 32 bit textures and it was smooth
it was for this reason i got rid of the celeron and used the p3
but now i want faster :)

If I were building a new Intel system, I'd definitely take the 733 *at this price - $30* over any Celeron.

Being completely honest: Although I am not a hardcore gamer, I have noticed very little difference from 366@550 to 633@950.

just bought a p3 800 for $223
i was told this was cb0 stepping so it should be easily overclockable right? :)
