I'm curious about my overclocking options for this chip. It's a Costa Rica FC-PGA with a voltage of 1.7? I thought that the lower .18 miron process would make it use less not more. Plus there is the whole 1.13Ghz thing to worry about if I do get it up there. Just looking for advice on a board and memory. I'd wait for the DDR ram but I hear that will be more difficult to over clock. What should I do/use?

The only thing I can tell you is that I use Mushkin's Rev 2.0 ram and have it at 140 MHZ cas2. It's good ram but kind of expensive. I hear that ram is coming down in price, but who knows.

One question for you is where did you get the cco stepping from? I thought intel wasn't shipping them till next month.

Actually I bought it off of a guy here on the forums. He had it and wasn't going to use it so he sold it to me. He didn't know it was cC0 neither did I until I looked it up in the Pentium !!! Spec Update.

yours is gonna be tough to overclock, since it's already running at 133mhz fsb. cC0 chips running at 100mhz fsb have a pretty good chance of reaching 133mhz fsb, mine does 150mhz.

yours being a 733/133, you're looking at around 825/150.

It would be nice if it was multiper unlocked :) I know it will be hard. I think the only "real" Options would be one of the 200Mhz motherboards for the last P!!! revision. Man now that would be nice...1.1GHZ

you misunderstand. the cC0 will not reach anything NEAR 200MHz. i have heard of some people getting lucky and reaching 166mhz, but even that is rare. the mobo might support 200mhz, but that has no real practical application with today's chips since none of them can go that high.

<smirk> ram's not gonna too much, because as i said before, the cpu is already approaching its limit. 133mhz fsb is pretty much the limit for the p3.

the cpu has nothing to do with it you ram will never reach that high and you pci peripherals will die under the 50 mhz pci bus. most pci devices do not run at the evil 41.5 mhz pci bus. I doubt you could run anything on a 50 mhz pci bus.

nah ur a little mixed up, your cpu can handle any bus speed, it just depends on the multiplier and the top speed of the cpu. if you had an unlocked pentium 2 300, you can run it at 4.5*66mhz or if u want u can run it at 2*150. as long as your motherboard ram and etc can take that kind of bus speed your fine...
