Hello!

Is it possible to overclock the celeron2 633MHz to 1000MHz???
Is it possible to overclock the pentium 3 coppermine 550E to 850MHz???

Which one of the overclocked CPU's above would be faster and better with this system:

Asus P3V4X 1.02V 1005 BIOS
64MB (upgrading to 128 soon) GENERIC PC100 RAM
Creative Labs TNT2 M64 16MB

Will my PC100 RAM be able to handle the 150 -33 = 117MHz speed of memmory?
(i know that with the celeron the speed of the RAM would be O.K.)
Will my video card be able to handle the 75MHz AGP bus speed?

Will my MOBO (ASUS P3V4X) is a good overclocker?
Will it be stable at these speeds ? (i have the ICS CLOCKGEN chip = 32FSB SPEEDS)

Which processor wuold be faster?

Which slocket do you reccomend? (asus, i will , msi)
Which cooler?
iS THE Golden Orb a *good* choise of cooler to cool the overclocked cpu's? (it's my only
choise...)
Is 3dfxcool gop a *good* thermal compaound?

Thank you and sorry for my english...

A Celeron 600 will most likely not be able to hit 1000. 550E's have been known to overclock to 825, but you'd need a mainboard that supports a 150MHZ bus and ram that can run at 150. I doubt that generic pc100 will do that.

actually, nobody can tell you what your ram will get since no two generic rams are alike. Some strike gold, some get stuff out of a dog's arse. Anyways. YOu could spring for a coppermine 600 and overclock that to 850 or more.

If you intend to mostly play cpu intensive 3d games, then go for the p3,as its 8 way piped setup will give you smoother game play. However if you are into o/cing and lite game play, then the c2-633 from onvia.com hit 950+.This is just my opinion, and I could be correct.

well, in my mind, i see the p3 and the celeron2 as both being great overclockers. I dont think a celeron of equal speed of a p3 will overclock too much further than the p3 and therefore making the p3 a much better choice.

your PC100 seriously cant do 150 and will have SERIOUS PERFORMANCE PENALITY if you do 150-33MHz

if you got some decent PC133 ram then i recommend you to get the 550E

but i seriouly cant recommend that since your ram is CERTAIN that it wont do 150 and even at 117 it will have serious performance hit

also
the Celeron633
MOST of them do 950
and if they dont (not a small chance tho) you are stuffed

i would get a 700E and oc that instead if i were you since those 550E and 700E's price difference arent huge

700E at 124 (which your ram can do) is already 868/124
and i think that will be above the speed of a Celeron at 1G generally (except Rc5 where the clock is everything)
