'Owning' someones INBOX in MS Outlook

How do you do it? People I know at various different companies 'hack' [for lack of a better word] and get access to someone else's inbox. How is this even possible?

Does anyone here have a clue as to what I am talking about?

Tools >> Services >> MS Exchange Server >> Properties >> Advanced >> Add >> "user name"

for MS exchange, at least.

It's possible to give other users on your network the ability to see your inbox. It's also possible to give other members the ability to edit your inbox, deleting emails, sending them to folders, etc. It's also possible to give a member full user-rights to your inbox (i.e. sending/receiving, editing, replying, etc).

If this is for a totally benign reason then you might want to make that clear. Mods have been giving permanent vacations for references to this type of activity.

I know a guy that owns his colleagues inbox and this colleague is unaware about it.

Now how did this guy get access to this mailbox when I am pretty sure the colleague wouldn't have given out his password.

I don't want to do it. Just interested in knowing how its done.

I have better work to do that read other people's email and then get in trouble for doing it.
