A couple stupid tweets (or whatever this is a reference to) make a bad starting point for a generalization of a large group of people. (this goes for R and D). Although, at least with mccain vs obama, there was no doubt that mccain did truly care for this country and its people (look at the dude's history); with romney's 47% remark, that is very much in doubt. Obama pretty clearly cares for this country and its people as well. I don't think any of the nutcases at the fringes of either party ever really did, though.

I tend to be of the belief that most intelligent republicans figured the next four years were going to suck and whoever is in power will be hated afterward which is why everyone in the primaries was either mitt romney or a total retard. I hope that isn't the entire makeup of the republican party these days. Although to be fair, mitt romney can cover a lot of positions so that alone makes it a decent "big tent" party.
