So I just got a new Lenovo Thinkpad assigned to me from my employer and I happened to be glancing over the little warnings/readme pamphlet that came with it that tells you where to download the full manual and such and I happened to notice the following warning:
"Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) cable and cord notice
The following notice is for users in the U.S.A." (that would be me)
"Many PC products and accessories contain cords, cables, or wires, such as power cords or cords to connect the accessory to a PC. If this product has such a cord, cable, or wire, then the following warning applies:
Warning: Handling the cord on this product or cords associated with the accessories sold with this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling."
Is this worth actually worrying about? How much lead is really in there? Is it actually enough to be harmful? I never knew this and I have been handling lots of laptop power cords for a long time.
