Overseas Education

I am planning to go to Perth hopefully in the next year to start Year 12 in College before I move on to Uni. I am just wondering, does anyone know approximately how much it would cost per year with lodging excluded. Also, how would the paperwork, i.e student visa etc processes be like? Any other advice would be nice from people who had experience studying overseas, regardless of place.

Find the Australian government webpage and look under the immigration laws. Most governments have decent websites which will have good information, and you might also want to check the US State Dept page at State Dept. That'll have some info at least. I think Australia is relatively lax on immigration stuff for US citizens, but I'm not positive (I know NZ is).

The costs are going to range widely depending on where you want to go and what you're doing. I can't speak to AUS schools, but I studied in France years ago. Do some Google searches and see what's out there. Check out AIFS (www.aifsaboard.com) -- that's who I used in France, and they were good. They aren't affiliated with a university so they'll take anyone rather than having to be enrolled with a specific school to study in their program. But, like I said, no guarantees because I studied with them 12 years ago.
