Explanation below, but to sum it up, I can't get the card to display in overlay mode. Any suggestions or availability of new or alternate drivers are appreciated.

Worked great in 95, and a few times in 98.

Specs.

Win98 & WinME
CL TNT2 Ultra (not overclocked [today])
Detonator 3.X-6.18
Brooktree 848 TV tuner.
DirectX 7.0a

Prob.
It will only display in preview mode.

Brooktree doesn't make any new drivers for win98 and beyond and only has drivers compatible with DirectX 5.

I got it to work correctly twice, once in Win98 and again in WinME but due to reinstallation of OSs, I can no longer get the card in overlay mode. (I reinstall about once a month (week [varies, I've got 3 Win98 and 2 WinME on my Hard Drive, 1 for gaming, 1 for working, others for fooling around all on 1 partition, the things you do when you've got abundant space :p])

When in ME, I got it to work by installing the 6.18 drivers after it would not work with the 6.13 or the 5.X but after I reinstalled the OS, I lost the ability and the new drivers didn't help the second time. I can't recall how I got it to work in 98.

If anyone else knows of a workaround let me know. Thanks.

The ATI TV ISA uses that chip. Might try drivers from there:http://support.ati.com/drivers/win98_player_52.html. The PCI version ATI TV Wonder uses the better quality BT878 chip. The best alternative is the (BT878) Hauppauge WinTV, which has Win2000 drivers usable, whereas the TV Wonder, not as yet.
Also, may want to re-install DX7a.

I get the overlay error when I have to reinstall Direct X. Always fixes it for me..
