Overheating?

I just put together a new system:

Athlon 1.4
Soyo Dragon
128 2100 DDR
ATI Radeon 32DDR
Antec 830 2 exhaust, 1 intake.

After playing Counter Strike for around 5-10 minutes, the computer will lock and a high pitch constant beep is played. Im thinking it do to overhearing. My idle temp is around 48c for the processor and 32 for the case. Do you think that it is getting to hot while playing CS that it is locking? Any help appreciated. I am using the heatsink/fan combo that came with the processor.

Thanks

no, i can't imagine it's the CPU overheating with these temps in idle, maybe the RADEON or some sort of northbridge fan not working (sorry, i'm not familiar with SOYO-boards)?

I have tried 3 different sets of drivers for the Radeon, so I dont think it is the problem. The fan over the mobo chipset is working fine. Any other ideas?

I just tried clocking the chip down to 1050, and it still locked up. This time it was without the beeping noise. This is starting to piss me off? Could it be bad ram?

Thanks

could be the RAM, but there are plenty other possibilities left for defective hardware or faulty BIOS SETTINGS.
here's what i'd do:

first: reset your BIOS and load BIOS DEFAULT SETTINGS, this should be easy and maybe you'll have a positive effect. tweaking of the BIOS SETTINGS can be done later on when you know what works. i'd take closer look at settings like AGP APERTURE SIZE, AGP MODE, BYPASS and most likely something like BANK INTERLEAVE.

second: if you're familiar with BIOS-UPGRADE and there is a new BIOS out for your board, try that

finally: try another CPU, another stick of RAM, another VGA-CARD, don't install any other cards and don't change more than one component at a time to get a clue.

I just tried out Unreal Tournament and the same thing happened. I have a 256 chip of ddr comming from crucial and it should be here tomorrow. I will go ahead and reset the bios defaults. What should I look for with AGP APERTURE SIZE, AGP MODE, BYPASS and BANK INTERLEAVE? Thanks for the help.

BTW, the locking up only occurs in games. Hasnt happened in win2k at all.

for the VGA-CARD:
AGP APERTURE SIZE should be set to 128MB regardless of the total amount of RAM you have.
set AGP MODE to 4X, BYPASS ENABLED (please consider that i have almost no experience with ATI RADEON, i'm used to NVIDIA-products ;)).

BANK INTERLEAVE refers to the "real" RAM, set it to AUTO for self-managemant, or DISABLED if you only have one module.

I went ahead and followed the suggestions for the BIOS. I fired up UT again and it played for around 5 minutes and a blue screen came up saying " Driver IRGL not less or equal" and I couldnt read the rest becuase the machine reset. Ideas?

I put in my old voodoo3 300 agp and everything is running fine now. Any ideas with the ATI card?
