overheating router

I have had my linksys befw11s4 router on for a month or so now, and now it is hot to the touch. I have also noticed a lot of stablilty problems. Like whenever i refresh a page, windows will tell me that the network cable was disconnected, or sometimes it will just choke on loading pages. And sometimes i just need to unplug it for a second to get my internet connection back.

So turn it off for a few hours and see what happens 🙂

Try setting a fan near it blowing on it, if this DOES fix the prob its heat. If not, prolly not heat...😉

i unplugged it for about 6 hours last night, (while I was sleeping of course😉), and everthing seems to be working fine.

My netgear router is cool to the touch, but my switch is hot as a mofo.
