I've OC'd my 2400+ to 2.25 ghz @ 166fsb on an Epox 8RDA+ board (1.175 vcore and zalman copper flower cooler). The temp at load according to sisoft sandra after 3 hour loop is approx 55 centigrade. Am I killing my chip? It works stably enough on Unreal II for hours..

Anyone got a similar setup for a comparison?

55C at full load is just fine for AMD chips. And if you're voltage is set at 1.175v, you are doing GREAT! :) No really, the default is 1.75v, how much if any did you bump it up?

If the temp reading is from the on-chip temp sensor, 55C is kewl.

My Xp2400(12*175) runs at 68C under prime95 and 53C while idling.
These temps are from the on-chip sensor using software called Speedfan.

Asus probe reads my full load temp as 48C and idle temp as 33C.
It seems that there is a 20C difference between mobo temp sensors and on-chip sensors.

I believe the max real temp for our chip is 85C

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice. I bumped up the vcore 3 notches(1.65 to 1.725 - scuse the earlier typo!). Time to start pushing the fsb now I know the chip is fine and dandy...:D
