Overheated cpu on a P3V4X - but why?

I have a P3-800EB which runs on a P3V4X. Under just a bit of preasure my cpu easily reaches 55-60 degrees Celcius. I think that is way too much. I have tested my cpu on other motherboards and here the temperature never goes above 40 degrees celcius. I have a maxi-tower with 2 extra fans so the cabinet has got a fine air-flow. The cpu is not over-clocked and has never bin. I suspect that my problem is the motherboard. Is it possible that there is a problem with P3-800EB running on this exact motherboard?
I would like answers mail to ziggiman@mail1.stofanet.dk

Thanx in advance )

No what you are seeing is the same with many others (high and jumpy readings) I had one and it did the same thing, the new 1.06 beta bios fixes this I think... My new CUSL2 reads low oddly enough cant figure out how to correct this (using CPUCool`s monitor & cooler) or should I say what to correct it to. This program allows you to recalibrate to what ever temp you want for the base ref...

Also if you know its cool enough then dont worry just correct it and go from there...

I had a similar heating problem. I found out it was caused by the heatsink. The heatsink had a soft tape on it where the cpu was supposed to contact it. I scraped it off and temps dropped by 45c.

with tape 80c !!
cleaned off tape then used radio shack compound...35c!!!

this is with a 600E running at 800mhz

if you use slocket, that's might be your problem.
Some slockets can't report correct temperature.
