"I think Obama is the second coming of Christ. You know if we have world peace, he really is."

It amazes me how polarizing this guy is and how extreme it is on both sides. I've heard others claim he's the anti-Christ. Why do people on both sides have to be so stupid? He isn't going to pay your mortgage, buy your gas, or give you a 6 figure income and he isn't going to start a nuclear war, implement reparations, or kill your family.

I think he's only polarizing to people who are already crazy.

I don't personally know anyone that swings to one extreme or the other regarding Obama. I have some friends who think he's going to be a great president and some friends who think he'll probably be no better than Clinton (who was above average, all things considered)

Bush was the Second Coming of Christ!! That would make Obama the Third Coming at best.

Crazy people didn't become crazy because of Obama. They were always crazy.

There are plenty of loons who called Bush the Second Coming too.

I heard a lady in a restaurant tell the person she was with that Obama was going to give her health insurance and kick out all the illegal aliens. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing.

He's the hope we've been waiting for. There are so many who have no real hope. They were destroyed by their own self hate. But some still believe and project their hope on him.

Trust in God but tie your camel first. When the lid of hopelessness is lifted change becomes possible, but only through work. He is the hope we've been waiting for but the work has to be supplied by us. Get behind Obama and push. The weight of the dead self haters that buries us is enormous.

Nothing can stand before the will of God. A mighty wave is coming. Open your hearts to the light.

No, I think all here miss the point, it is not the hope or yes we can offered by Obama, its the audacity of hope that we will somehow survive GWB, even if we have to piss away 850 billion in bailout money to do it.

Obama is that light at the end of the tunnel we have been waiting for and McCain was McSame. Any other candle would have done as well, but Obama is really swell. And now we can emerge from an age of darkness and unreason, and that though alone is super pleasing.

Speaking only for myself I am always turned off by something or someone people are overly enthusiastic about....

combine that with a totally different set of beliefs and priorties and viola, I don't like what the guy stands for nor do I agree with those who think he is the next best thing to sliced bread.

At least it wasn't something like "If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college."

You never know what you'll overhear when dining at your local health club. This holds about as much water as the "Ronald Wilson Reagan=6+6+6=antichristOMG!" thing. Nevertheless, there are all sorts of people who think like this...

I took a visiting French colleague out to dinner about 16 months ago. We overheard a woman sitting at the next table talking about her support for Mr Obama. My colleague asked me who she was talking about. I said he was a freshman senator from IL who gave a good speech at the 2004 DNC. My colleague said isn't he an afro-american? She knew America's and France's history with race

At the time I thought the Obama supporter was nuts because he did not have a snowball's chance in hell to get the Democratic nomination much less win the election.

People think he's the anti-Christ because of that stupid Left Behind series of books.
