i was thinkin buyin a decent video card and overclocking what are the consequences

Nothing short term if you have proper cooling and dont go overboard with your overclocks.

OVerclocking anything will probably shorten its lifespan, but who wants the same video card in 10 years anyways?

Be careful, theres always that need/want to push the speeds harder and faster

I killed my old BFG 6800 GT OC like that, but thankfully they replaced it in an instance!
Managed to get it back to stop temps before it died, so they couldnt tell I'd overcooked it!

Ive never found overclocking a video card useful anyways. You cant overclock them enough to make a noticeable fps difference in games anyways. And you also just void the warranty is the process. Overclock a cpu, thats what gives a good boost in fps. Dont waste your time ocing a video card to gain a whole 15fps more that you cant notice and void the warranty over.

Of course, thats just my opinion.
