hey!!! i built my machine with XP 2200+ on EPoX 8RDA+ mobo. Its running great and i have no complaints but for curiosity's sake i want to push my machine upto the edge, not really over. So i need to know the procedure of overclocking this 2200+ TBred, if i'd have to unlock the processor, etc.

Set your fsb to 166 & your memory to 100%, your multiplier to 13, all settings to aggressive. I did that w/ my XP 1700+ on the Epox 8RDA+ motherboard, I get 12 x 166 fsb at 1.6 V default = 2.000 GHz. XP 1700+ can only go up to 12.5 multiplier. Try it, & see what you get.

Thanks for the suggestions, i'll definitely try it. But in one of the articles posted on our host site they say that TBred 2200+ can ony be overclocked up to 1822MHz even at increased voltage. Link:

Do u know anyone who has tried overclocking TBred 2200+ to beyond 1822MHZ? Seems they have some architectural limitations. To me it seems that AMD is overclocking there own base CPU cores to produce faster CPU models. wat say?

yah the wall was around 1.8-1.9ghz for them....thats why they revised the core (amd) and introduced tbred "B" gen
