Anyone have a problem overclocking from XP1600 to an XP2100? At first, everything seems okay. Temps are at 53C, but when I run 3dmark2001 SE, my pc locks up in both XP2000 and XP2100. I have not yet tried running 3dMark2001 at XP1900. Everything is stable until I use my video card too much. It's not my video card because things are fine at XP1600+. Any recs?

hi. abe helped me, i forget his username here.

i upped my fsb to 164. motherboard is msik7t266. voltage is at 1.8. dimms are at default.

abe and i concluded that i need a new motherboard since pci and agp cant run at 164 . something like that.

yeah you don't have the correct divider, plus it sounds like your heatsink is not of good quality. Better leave it be till you can buy a better mobo, and HSF

Hey Gary!

Nice OC! :)
I think the problem is not overheating, since U got a Volcano 7+ there.
What happens when U run 3DMark, n other benchies? BSODs? Or it just go back to ur desktop? Or it freezes?
Maybe up a little bit the vdimm will help you.
Thinking about getting a new mobo? Heheheheheheheheheheehhehehe Probably now that the KT400 r comin out the KT333 will drop the prices.

Good luck on ur OC!

Volcano 7+ running at 3200RPM. I think that's a good HSF. Better be. Cost me 30 bucks. :)

Rafael...might not get a new mobo, even though you predicted it. :) I'm running at XP1900+. I think it should be fine now, haven't run 3dMark yet. But a jump from XP1900+ to XP2100+ won't be that noticeable for me.

Hey Gary!

I think the Volcano 7+ is a good HSF too. Whats the fan setting? Lowest speed?
Yeah u probably fine running @ 1900+, wont even notice the difference on real applications.

I am having no problems whatsoever getting my 1600 to 2100 speeds. I think i can go higher but i dont want to "really" push it quite yet ;)

My setup

XP 1600+ AGOIA F 0212
EPoX 8k5a3+ (With voltage issues (Not the PS)... :( << That btw are temps with my room door closed, stock 1600+)
Corsair XMS PC2700 (Dang, I really want some genuine samsung 3000 or something :) oh well)
Volcano 9

VERY stable running Prime95. Its running at just a few C higher than when my room door is closed at stock speed. I have my room door open so that my room has got some cross ventilation, otherwise it turns into a sauna. lol. So really its running a bit hotter but its running stable as a rock. Later tonight I will run 3dmark 2001 at the same time and loop the tests for a while and see what that does to it. So far though despite the voltage extreme abnormailties it is functioning quite well.

Curently under 100% load it is running at:
42c CPU
29c CASE

Just installed my AGOIA "Y" chip today too....from Newegg.

Specs:

Epox 8K3A+
XP1600 AGOGIA "F" @ 2100+, 1.75v
Crucial PC2100 @ PC2700, 2.8v - "FAST" bios settings
Alpha PAL8045 w/35cfm fan: Idle: 48c Load: ~52c
Radeon 8500-64 Retail @ 300/300
2x WD 100MB JB (No Raid)
SB Live Value

No problems just yet. I am waiting for some $$$ to come through so I can buy a real case/PS and some PC2700 or better Ram.

What voltage issues? Your voltages look fine, with the exception of your +12v being a little low, but within limits... I've got two 8K5A2+'s here and they both have extremely stable voltage regulation...
