Got an Asus X300, not X300 SE. I used ATItool to overclock it. Currently running at 450MHZ (core) and 230MHZ (effectively 460MHZ) (memory). BTW, it runs Farcry at 1152x864 w/ high setting with > fps 30! totally playable!
couple questions
1) it seems ATItool does not catch artificats consistently. My window was full of artificats and it was still upping the memory frequency in its automated "find max frequency" routine. If I let the program run overnight, is there a danger that my machine will burst into flames from an overclocked, overheated card???
2) Along the same line, can you ever overclock a graphics card to the point of burning out the card or other parts of the system? In other words, will graphics cards always shut down the system if it's overheated too much?
