overclocking with the KG7 RAID and Registered RAM?

Has anyone tried this my friend is having trouble with a 1.4 past 1.5 on the KG7 (i told him to go epox )
with an 11*136 it doesnt boot up 2k i know FSB doest overclock well with registered ram but i am sure 99% of 1.4 's
will go past 1.5. and most can prolly hit 1.6 with adequate cooling and good PSU

he has Enermax 431 watt
512 MB crucial registered
1.4 Ghz Tbird
Abit KG7
Seagate Barracuda 30 GB 7200
Thermalright SK-6 and Delta 38
Arctic Silver II

any have success overclocking with registered dimms? or overclocking with 4 unbufferend Dimms?

Why did he go Registered? KG7 doesn't even need registered when using all 4 DIMM's. I dunno about ocing with Registered DDR, so this can be a bump

abit recommended Registered DIMMs so he got those

he had no idea unbuffered DDR would work with 4 DIMMS since he bought his mem early and prepurchased the motherboard

i was just wondering if anyone could explain why a 11*136 multiplier would not boot up 2k cuz registered is supposed to hit 137-8 FSB speed.

Maybe a heat issue but i doubt it his idle temps were in the mid 40's with an ambient temp of about 80 F
