I have a E7600 on a Asus P5Q Deluxe and am trying to get a working overclock I am happy with. Right now I have it at 3.846Ghz @ a fixed CPU voltage of 1.328v which appears to be stable. However I want to have speedstepping and a variable voltage. The problem with this is that if I leave the voltage on auto it stays around 1.36v no matter what and the multiplier stays at the 2Ghz mark (with or without fixed voltage).
I was wondering if I can get stepping to go from 1.6Ghz -3.846Ghz under load and a voltage variable from 1.272v (Preferably lower. I will need to experiment with undervolting to find out) - whatever it needs to get to the 3.846Ghz mark. Or is this just not possible?
