Overclocking with DDR3-1600 and Skylake?

Just wondering if using DDR3 would impact the overclocking process much.

Unless you're overclocking RAM, I expect not. However, don't expect to be able to use 1.5v DDR3.

even if intel doesn't officially support it seems to work fine

if you go by official specs you should also only run DDR4 2133 and no faster.
