Using the following:

Epox 8RDA+
Athlon XP 1600+ AGOIA
2x256 Samsung TB3 PC2700 RAM
Volcano 9
Antec smart power 350W PS

What do you think would would be the optimal BIOS settings for this if I don't plan to unlock the CPU right now?

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Best way to find out the Highest FSB speed you can attain is to run your ram at very conservative settings and also lower your multiplier to something like 6X, and then start off by running your FSB at 166. Then try it. If it doesn't POST then you should raise your voltage a bit. From then start to raise your FSB by a little at a time and see where it would end up locking at. Once you find your highest FSB speed then you start to raise your Multiplier until it starts to lock up. Then start to run your memory at faster settings. Also make sure to run your ram at synchrous setting. Meaning to run it at the same speed as your fsb. So if your FSB is at 133 then run your ramm at 133 (266) setting. For 166FSB run at 166 (333). This way will lower your latency and your system will FLY :)

Your cpu looks like a Palomino core, am i rite? ..

Well, I set the FSB to 166 and synched my RAM. Temp right now is 38C. At what temp should I start to get concerned?

1600+ were only made with Palomino cores

Some were made in Tbred form. I remember seeing some in the FS/T forum. I'll see if I can dig up the post.

EDIT: Linky

Some proof that it exists. There are several other posts about a tbred 1600+, but this was original one i saw with the pictures. Though the pics don't work any more. Obviously if it was a fake, so many people wouldn't have bothered to purchase, or show so much interest.

You are running very cool right now. I would not worry unless your temps make it to the low 50s under heavy load.

I have the same motherboard and processor. I am also running 512 meg of pc3200 xms. I am running my fsb at 200 and my multiplier on my processor at 9. So I'm getting 1800 mhz and my temps arent that bad. The are around 40 idle and 45 load.
