Overclocking w/o AGP/PCI Lock

I have a motherboard w/o an AGP/PCI lock and am looking to push my system a little bit. I realize that when I bump the FSB, since there is no lock, it bumps up the AGP/PCI as well (linearly I guess).

I can overclock my 6600GT pretty well with software already. So if I reduce the video card back down to stock settings, should I be able to get a good amount of FSB overclock and let the FSB speed up the video card on its own?

I'm really confused about all this, and as you can probably tell, I've never overclocked my CPU/RAM before.

Here's my specs:
Asus K8V-X VIA K8T800
A64 3200+ S754 Newcastle
GeForce 6600GT
512 MB PC3200 Kingston HyperX

no way around it- 6600 oc has nothing to do with it
check out some ASUS and Via chipset forums to see if there is a fix- never used that board myself
have you tried setting the agp from auto to 67? ( I do not know if that trick works on your chipset)
anyone else?
you can cheat up a little
are you ATA or SATA?
BACK UP before trying any OC
get a raptor
any of your apps use more memory?
are you running xp? or W2K? go to blackviper.com and turn off some of your services-
It'l feel like a new computer
start researching a new motherboard

Overclocking the video card does not affect your AGP freq.

You should be able to run in the 70-75mhz before data corruption (66 is stock)

I've read on other forums that this board isn't particularly good for OC b/c there is no lock...not even at 67.

I doubled my 512 to 1GB today as I received my shipment from Newegg. That's about all I will need for now.

I just checked and my memory is running at 225Mhz CL 2. I guess that's PC3500 standards. My CPU is also at 2250 from the stock 2200. I don't remember doing any of that, but there have been nights where alcohol has inhibited my memory (in my brain)!

Anyhow, since my board won't lock I guess I'll just stick with what I've got right now. Thanks for the help and I'll see y'all round on the boards. It's my first day here.

Blackviper.com does not exist. I'd love to turn off some of the background crap on my computer, and any sites dedicated to doing so would be nice.
