Overclocking + Unstable 3d mark '03

are there any known crash bugs w/, specifically, 3d mark '03 & any of the hardware (check out my sig)? im using 77.72 nvidia drivers i believe, not sure about what nforce or bios version for the Asus I'm using (i'm new to this level of overclocking)...my cpu OC seems fairly stable at this point 1hr of prime95 small fft / 1hr. of blend - I know it's not enough but will test more later...seemed to settle at 52C under load in both occasions using NVMonitor
if you have any suggestions or need more info, by all means please reply ( note also that set my vid card to stock settings & tried to run it to no avail either, so it doesnt appear to be the 6600 overheating)

03 uses the sound card, where 01 and 05 don't. Is your PCI bus clock locked? or can that MB even do that?

yes i believe it does (& has) pci bus lock(ed), but im using onboard sound in this case...this is just the sort of thing i was wondering about...things that are different about '03 that might explain why the others are stable but it is not...keep the help coming! 🙂 i must say that the only other prog that has caused me problems on my new setup (& it crashes to desktop just like 3d mark 'o3 does) is GTA San Andreas, though the problem w/ that game seemed to disappear when i clocked my 6600gt down a bit (i thought my o'clock on it was pretty tame to begin with though)

Although oc is nice, it can cause problems on the benchmarks. It happened to my 6600, I just clocked it down a lil more for a stable oc. works fine since then.

agreed! the problem is is that i am having problems at stock speeds as well...hmmm, the mystery lives on 🙂 the upside is thqat games run almost perfectly stable & wonderfully fluid, so the problem (for now) is nothing more than an annoying nuisance 🙂
