Ok so I?ve upgraded again .... like so many people do these days and I?m getting slow down ( IE Soldier of Fortune II )
:(`` SOB why ME ! ..its never good enough is it ! ... anyways here?s my situation

Athlon XP 1800+ sorry its installed and that alpha Pal is a **** to get off so I?m looking for a FSB overclock with this one
here is what i have tried so far
Stock speed // 1533 @ 133 - 1.75v

143 FSB = 1624Mhz @ 1.775v - This works with 1.75 but after i got a crash i thought it be better to have just a lil bit more juice
153 FSP = 1743Mhz @ 1.85v - a tini wini bit unstable but worked fine...

Anything after that doesn?t load into windows and this being a new system i dont wanna hurt it by putting the CPU voltage to high .... is this a good overclock ... or have i made myself the laughing stock of Anandtech ?
before you reply to this post please check out my system rig i hope all the info required to give a helpful reply is there
Oh ! and Before u ask Bios is tweaked New Drivers for all device's so on ! haven?t done a BIOS update yet maybe that could be a thing !

I unlocked my AROIA 1800+ and tested it for a day running at 1800 mhz, 1.85 V cracking rc5 with rather poor aircooling. Tonight I am finally putting my watercooling together and we'll see if I can push it a bit further. It wasn't stable at 1827 (crashed after a while in Windows) with the aircooling. You might have some other component that can't take the high fsb, if you unlock it you'll find out.

Try running at 151fsb and 1.80v. Is it stable? If not, you have probably reached your current cpu limit at 1743MHz. I wouldn't be surprised. What's the actual voltage at 1.85v indicated and what are your system and cpu load temps?

PS do you know the stepping?

At 1.85v my Athlon XP 1800+ (1.743 ) runs at 34c idle and 37c load ( no joke )
its that cool ! and yes the reading right i checked with MBM5 and within the Bios
The Alpha Pal 8050 Heatsink and 80mm Fan dose what it said it would.

dose that help ?

:)

I don't see it... should be AGOGA/AGOIA/AROIA/something like that. Did you try dropping vcore and fsb a little bit? That'll tell you if your current instability is due to cpu.

yeah i tried ... it worked ok ... ohh ..how do i find out my stepping ? without looking at the CPU
SiSoftware Sandra 2002 Pro
tells me its

Revision / Stepping - 6 / 2 / (0)
Stepping Mask - 5A

Whatever that means :) i dont know

search google for it
as far as learning AGOGA/AGOIA/AROIA that stuff
i believe yur gonna hafta look at the cpu itself
