Overclocking Ti4200 (questions)

I am using Riva Tuner. So far, I have set the core clock up to 300 from 250, and the memory clock up to 500 (don't remember default). There is a Test button, but it gave no results when it was finished. I am assuming it's ok then.

1) Do I simply run UT2k3 benchmark, or 3DMark or something to stress test the video, and see how high I can go? I really dont care about scores, more concerned with gaming. The games do run fine as is, I'd just like to see if I can eek out some more frames per sec.

2) How do I monitor the card's temp? Do I just wait until I see artifacts or get crashes? And part 2- how easy is it to burn up the card if you are not careful?

3) In the bios (Epox 8K9AI) there is a setting to raise the voltage of the agp bus. If I do that, I raise the temp as well. How high should I try OCing before attempting to raise the voltage, if at all? Should I just leave the voltage alone?
I'm going to need some better cooling on my card 🙂

Btw, I am already OC'ing the system. AthlonXP 1700+@2.1Ghz or so, 1.75v, 166X12.5 (if I remember correctly).

Thx.

1) Yes those are fine to test it to make sure it's not artifacting and see what kind of improvement you're getting.

2) If your card doesn't have temp monitoring built in (which most don't) you can't check the temps. It's fairly hard to burn up a card cause usually the card will just artifact or the system will freeze.

3) I've never tried adjusting the voltage for my card so I don't know about this.

Ok, thx. I played UT2k3 for several hours last night (My name is Chris and I'm and addict 😀) and it performed very well. I didn't think to check the FPS, I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't crash or show artifacts. I might bump it up a bit more tonight and see how it goes.
