Thanks for all the help guys my 2600 is now running at 2.45Ghz 2x 196fsb 12.5x Multiplyer

13x or 14x brings down my MHZ speed???

I'm 43deg idle and probably 53 when gameing. The board stats shows I got it at 1.84 volts

I cant go any higher. Same with Ram I have a Gig of it and the voltage will not go any higher.

I did have it at 2.5Ghz and 2x200fsb and it runs windows fine. Only when I play Battlefield1942/Desert Combat it will close the games process.

I cant think of anything else to do Voltages are up ram times are down to optomal.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome... :)

So it really looks like I'm not going to be able to make it to 2.5 for some reason or another ....

What motherboard are you using? Unless you've got a DFI or Abit NF7-S board, the highest multiplier you will be able to use is 12.5x. Using a higher multiplier than 12.5X will trick the board into using the low end mutlpliers of 6.0x, 8.0x, etc.

You're board may be the limiting factor. Some of the earlier NForce2 boards don't like it when the FSB starts getting near 200. My 8RDA doesn't and my 2600+ mobile is running at 12.5 x 190 = 2375mhz.

What RAM voltage are you running? Depending on the type of RAM, you might want to raise the RAM voltage to 2.7-2.8v and see if that helps.

Blue! Your my boy Blue!

Great you have probably Pin Pointed my problem!!!!

A7N8X nForce 2 Delux Version

So youre probably right!

I have Value Ram PC3200 and the voltages are all the way up also and no problem with them.

Well 2.45 is alright for me if it means getting a new board.

I have a gForce Asylum "yeah i know blah" 5600 "not ultra" but 256mb DDR video..

OC'd at 362 Mhz Core | 570 MHz Mem

Would you all say go for video in time before another MB?

Thanks Blue !! Your my boy Blue!!
