Overclocking Tbird 1.133Ghz & L1 Bridges

Howdy,
Do the L1 bridges on the AMD Tbird RevC absolutely have to be reconnected via pencil or conductive pen in order to overclock via multiplier change from 8.5x to a greater multiplier?
