overclocking t-bird 900

I tried to o'clock my system using a guide from tom's hardware, at first It wouldn't boot at all, now it giving me this error message, something "boot strap " use F10 to disable, the darn thing wont go away, it goes into windows after it pauses at the win98 logo for a long time , then sometimes locks there, sometimes rebots on it's own also. I reset the defaul speed on the cpu at the bios , but the error mesage still shows up and the computer still locks, I tried to reinstalled win98 now my modem dials out but won't conect, I get some network errors, this stuff is not even on a network environment. Can anybody help? have anybody encounter this same problem. My mobo is an amptron 200/266 fsb I can't remember the model right now.
