Hey everyone,

Just upgraded finally from thunderbird1.1 to a system with:
2500+ 256pc400 asrock K7S41GX with my same vid card: Ti4200 with vivo found at the link below:

http://www.leadtek.com/3d_graphic/winfast_a280_letd_myvivo_1.html

VGA Memory Clock 445.5 MHz
VGA Core Clock 249.8 MHz

it is running at stock clocks and My system runs at 43celcius, 48celcius system temp, the vid card looks like it has nice cooling and fan on it but I dont want it to burn itself out either.

Can I and how can I overclock this gpu? will it make a dif on my system especially if I am looking at playing most if not all new games for 2004? what clock should I am for with this card?

Thanks for replies,

Dustin

If you're playing "most of the new 2004 games" you'll quite simply need a more powerful card.

However, the video card right now is probably the last thing you should worry about. I don't know how the hell you can stand to run XP on 256MB. :p Buy another stick of 256MB at LEAST, and overclock that 2500+ to 3200+ speeds.

Exactly right, that'll give you a huge boost, after that if you still want to overclock the GF4 Ti then use power strip and be very careful. To tell if the card is getting to hot use an "artifact tester" which you can find freely on your favorite search engine.

Coolbits is free, smaller, and is already installed. :p

I'd say it's worth it. I know I'm getting significantly more mileage out of my 64mb Ti4200 because it's clocked @ 300/625.

my cpu is now running at 1846mhz, and im eager to see what this vid card can do, my cpu is running at 52celc, and mobo 42celc. my room is pretty hot though around 30.

Anyway, it looks like a good heatsink/fan combo, and my clocks are fairly low, I might even be able to achieve past 4400 speeds shouldnt I?

Anyway, I dont want to ruin this vid card, but I would like to try what it can take.

Is there just some program I can run? i have the latest drivers from nvidia.com and win xp...

thanks for any help!
