Hey guys,
I have a Retail AMD 64 2800+ with the reatil heatsink (with the thermal pad) I have an ASUS K8V SE, and a good case with one exhaust fan(80mm), one side fan (4cm), and a PCI based intake/exhaust undermy vid card 9800 pro flashed to XT, but underclocked since I have stock cooling on that. How much can I OC my cpu, and to what? Thanks for actually reading this and giving me sound advice
Thanks,
Kishan
EDIT: My CPU Temp is around 34 C with normal use, however at 41~42 under high load

Ok, I have a question pertaining to this:

Do I have to run my RAM at the same frequency as the cpu bus? I could swear that the article on was not....

Do you get a performance hit like in Athlon XPs or is this doable with the 64s now??

Confused =/

You never know until you try. Every chip is different so just overclock it as high as you can and test for its stability.

No, you don't have to run it the same and the performance hit will be small.

You won't get much of an overclock becuz the VIA chipset is NOT a good overclocker. I'm going to sell mine very soon and get the nforce3 250GB board (either Epox or msi board).

See my sig for my overclock
