overclocking: socket 754 3400+ Newcastle vs. Clawhammer

yep newcastle core is better. Mine is clocked at 2.7 on air after a lot of tweaking. ppl are getting 2.5-2.8ghz from these 3400+.

My newcastle runs at 2590 so stable even my notpickiest testing can't find anything wrong. Higher voltage allows higher clocks for about 24 hours but then errors appear. So I'm stock voltage.

The bigger cache is generally leading to lower overlocks, because there are a lot of transistors who all need to like the idea of the new clockspeed.
