overclocking sempron 2400??

I don't think you can overclock with that board. I don't think it has FSB options in bios other than 100/133/166MHz . Since a Sempr0n will already be at 166MHz, there's no further you can go.

Even if you could, I think there's some question how high a FSB you could get with that chipset. Probably not too far above 166MHz.

Increasing FSB will allow you to overclock a Sempr0n, but you're not doing it with that motherboard.

i guess you are correct........this motherboard doesn't even support more than 333 fsb...........i guess i should have bought a better mbd-cpu.........anyways thanks

Hey, I have a sempron 2400+ that i bought yesterday, and it is so awesome! I replaced my Duron 1.2 GHz because it had a major accident with the raw edge of my heatsink, and rendered useless (Ask me and ill send a picture of the CPU carnage!), But i have a Soyo SY-K7VME, which has cpu freq. settings in the bios, and i have my mobo set to 166 on the jumper, but it is o-c'ed to 198MhZ... is there any other method of changing the speed (I have read about changing multipliers and FSB's, but am not very informed with the info i've found...) Can anyone help?
