Overclocking RAM

Is it safe to overclock a CPU with PC3200 RAM? Or should I get a PC3500 or higher? I am only overclocking 100-200Mhz.

yeah you can do that just fine. Esspecially if you are using an A64 or P4 because using ratio's doesn't have any real negative effect.
 
I'd say with PC3200, go with 25Mhz FSB. What brand is the RAM? Is it Centon Value Crap or Corsair XMS good stuff? That can make a difference as well.
 
I had a stick of kingston hyperx ddr400 that ran at ddr433 with no problems. Get good ram, and I'm sure it'll oc a little bit. Unless you want to run ddr400 at ddr500, which is what you say you want to do. In that case, just get ddr500 ram.
 
You building a AMD64 system? With the memory dividers and the AMD64 you can over clock the CPU and just not run 1:1 with the memory. This will have very little effect on everyday system performance. But it does seem like all memory will overclock to some point. But one set of memory from the same manufacturer might be very different then the next.
 
I am actually not going to overclock to DDR500, just a little overclock, something like 20-30Mhz on the FSB (which translates into 40-60Mhz on the RAM, right?).
