I just bought 512MB's of Geil Golden Dragon PC3200 RAM (Dual Channel Kit) and was planning to just set my multiplier high and increase voltage to overclock. But I dont want my voltage to be too high so I wanted to be able to overclock the RAM too but dont know where to start. Ive tried it before on my PC 2700 Hyper X but even 1mhz increase made it not boot so I am a bit puzzled on how it will work out this time. I hear this RAM is very good for overclocking since it doesnt get very hot so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Why did you spend $200 on new ram to raise your multiplier?? Here's what you need to do: set your multi to a safe point, like 10x or 10.5x, and your fsb to 200. If that's stable (test it with Prime95 torture test), then starting raising the multiplier until it isnt stable anymore.

edit: Set you cpu voltage (called vcore) to around 1.75v. That's safe for all Athlons.

Well its because I wanted to try and achieve 2.5GHZ but I didnt wanna set the multiplier high as well as the voltage so I wanted to overclock the RAM some but ya my plan was to start off small then increase and test. I should be getting a new heatsink in the mail this week so heat wont cause any problems. I only paid $103 for my RAM, it was 2 sticks of 256MB GGD PC3200 so I dont have any regrets there. Thanks for the info but if possible I would appreciate some RAM overclocking help.

Well, overclocking ram is just like overclocking anything else: first, you raise the voltage, then you test. But, you can't overclock your ram, until you know that your proc. can hit 200 fsb, man! Your ram should do around 220fsb, at default voltage. If your proc. can handle 220fsb (that's doubtful), then raise the vdimm (ram voltage) to 2.8, and see how much higher you can go...
