Overclocking - RAM speed

I currently have my E4300 at 300x9, and a 3x multiplier on my 800mhz RAM, effectively OC'ing the RAM to 900mhz. Timings are 5-5-5-15.

Question is, would I get better performance in games if I set a 1:1 ratio? Setting the FSB to 350 (my board maxes out at 375 or so with the E4300), would give me 700mhz RAM (underclocked), but I could set timings to 4-4-4-12 at that speed.

So which is faster in games: RAM at 700mhz 1:1 4-4-4-12, or 900mhz 2:3 5-5-5-15?

Download a memory benchmarking program and answer the question yourself---everest 2.2 and pcwizard 2007 are two freebies from off the top of my head.

But in game play your bottleneck could be elsewhere---again benchmarking programs can give that clue.

Mhz> timings for everything. BTW, your bottleneck isn't your RAM or processor, it's your video card.
