I just downloaded powertrip, and would like to know exact steps to overclock this card safely, maybe 183/183 or so.. it's sitting at 164/164 stock now, according to power strip..
by the way, i've turn powerstrip off so it doesn't start when computer starts up.. after i tweak it, do I need to have powerstrip running the whole time, or it just a one time thing..

sorry, i'm new at this stuff.. thanks for the help

Increment the mem and core clocks by 3 or so, apply the adjusted clock settings, and then run Q3 in a timedemo loop (more than just one timedemo) or do something to stress the 3D functionality for a reasonable amount of time. Check for visual artifacts. Rinse and repeat until you get some visual artifacts. Then, if you want, you can try increasing one of the clocks using the same process.

Powerstrip needs to be run once after a powerup/reboot to apply the clock changes, and then can be closed (you still retain the adjusted clock settings).

Just type pstrip.exe /clk 183 183 /exit in the run box. Substitute the clock speed you want for the 183.

183 183 is the default of the 64MB Radeon, correct? How do I verify that it is clocking at that speed, do I hit the I (information button) on the powerstrip tool bar? Where in there do I look? Thanks, newbie here!

On the 64MB Radeon, 183 is the default ONLY on RETAIL MODELS; OEM versions are all clocked at 166 (including 32/64/AIW).

Is there a program that will tell me what the video card is clocking at. I put the run commmand line in and did not notice any difference and want to see if it took the command.
